Location, Fees and Insurance
Where Are You Located?
I offer both in-person therapy in Arvada, Colorado, and secure virtual therapy sessions throughout Colorado.
In-Person Therapy in Arvada
My office is located in the historic Davis Block, a two-story brick and stone building near Wadsworth Boulevard and I-70.
The office is located above Hunter Bay Coffee on Olde Wadsworth Boulevard near Grandview Avenue. The entrance is marked with the building address, and the suite is upstairs.
Therapy Fees
My private-pay rate is $140 for a 53–55 minute individual therapy session.
Payment is due at the time of service. I accept cash, credit cards, and checks. Your credit card information may be securely kept on file for payment processing.
I take your investment in therapy seriously. Our work together will be focused on helping you move toward your goals, both during sessions and through practices and insights you can carry into your daily life.
Online Therapy
For virtual therapy sessions, I use a secure video therapy platform. I will send you a private link before your appointment.
How Often Will We Meet?
Therapy frequency is determined collaboratively based on your goals, needs, and circumstances. Weekly sessions are often helpful, particularly at the beginning of therapy, but you are not required to schedule a recurring weekly appointment.
You may schedule sessions according to your needs and availability. I am available during regular business hours and am not equipped to provide services for needs that require support outside of those hours.
Insurance and Payment Options
I accept Kaiser insurance and private-pay clients.
If you are using insurance, your coverage and out-of-pocket costs will depend on your specific plan. I recommend contacting your insurance provider to ask about your copay, deductible, coverage limits, and behavioral health benefits.
Out-of-Network Insurance Benefits
If I am an out-of-network provider for your insurance plan, I can provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
Insurance plans differ, and reimbursement is not guaranteed. Please contact your insurance provider before beginning therapy to confirm:
Whether you have out-of-network mental health benefits
Your deductible and copay or coinsurance
The percentage of out-of-network services your plan reimburses
Whether a mental health diagnosis is required
Any limits on the number of sessions covered
You are responsible for understanding your insurance benefits and submitting any required documentation.
Private Pay and Confidentiality
Some people choose private-pay therapy because they prefer not to submit claims to their insurance company.
When insurance is used, the insurance company may require a mental health diagnosis and information about your treatment in order to process claims. Insurance companies may also determine whether treatment is medically necessary and how many sessions they will cover.
Some clients prefer private pay because they want greater control over their personal health information and do not want to submit therapy claims to insurance.
Private-pay therapy may be a good option for people who:
Prefer not to submit mental health claims to insurance
Want greater privacy around their therapy
Are seeking support for personal growth or life challenges that may not meet insurance requirements
Do not want their therapy to be determined by insurance coverage
You can learn more about privacy and your rights in my Privacy Practices.
Good Faith Estimate
Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges for health care services.
At the beginning of treatment, I will provide an estimate of anticipated services and fees based on the information available at that time. Your actual treatment needs and the frequency or duration of therapy may vary.
Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please provide at least 48 hours' notice.
Missed appointments and cancellations with less than 48 hours' notice are charged the full session fee. Exceptions may be made at my discretion for emergencies or unexpected circumstances.
Other Payment Options
Depending on your circumstances, other resources may be available, including:
Crime Victim Compensation: Some victims of crime may qualify for therapy benefits through their county's victim compensation program.
The Second Wind Fund: Resources may be available for eligible teens experiencing suicidal ideation.
Eligibility and availability vary. Please contact the appropriate organization to determine whether you qualify.
Have Questions About Fees or Insurance?
Choosing a therapist is an important decision. If you have questions about fees, insurance, scheduling, or whether we may be a good fit, please contact me. I am happy to help you understand your options before you schedule.
THERAPY MODALITIES I USE:
Somatic Experiencing® (SE®) for Trauma and Nervous System Regulation
Somatic Experiencing® (SE®) is a body-based therapy approach for healing from trauma, anxiety, and overwhelming experiences. It helps you understand how your nervous system responds to stress and trauma, including fight, flight, freeze, and fawn responses.
Many people understand what happened to them but still feel stuck in patterns of anxiety, hypervigilance, shutdown, disconnection, or overwhelm. Somatic Experiencing® helps you gently notice your body's sensations, emotions, and responses—sometimes referred to as your “felt sense”—without becoming overwhelmed or shutting down.
Together, we move at a pace that supports your nervous system. With guidance and practice, you can develop greater awareness, regulation, and flexibility in how you respond to stress and difficult experiences. The goal is to help you feel more connected to your body, more empowered in your life, and more at ease within yourself.
Somatic Experiencing® may be helpful for people healing from childhood trauma, abuse, neglect, traumatic events, chronic stress, anxiety, and other experiences that continue to affect the nervous system.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is an evidence-based therapy approach that helps you understand the different “parts” of yourself that influence your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships.
You may notice that one part of you wants to move forward while another part feels afraid. One part may be highly self-critical, while another feels overwhelmed, angry, or exhausted. IFS helps you explore these inner experiences with curiosity and compassion rather than judgment.
Through Internal Family Systems therapy, we work to understand the roles different parts have developed and how they may be trying to protect you. By becoming more aware of your internal system, you can begin to understand the roots of inner conflict, reduce self-criticism, and develop a more compassionate relationship with yourself.
IFS can be especially helpful for people working through trauma, anxiety, relationship difficulties, shame, self-criticism, and internal conflict.

Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)
Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) combines mindfulness practices with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques to help reduce anxiety, stress, depression, and other distressing emotional patterns.
MBCT helps you develop greater awareness of your thoughts, emotions, and body sensations without automatically reacting to them. With practice, you can learn to recognize unhelpful thought patterns and respond to difficult emotions with greater clarity and self-compassion.
Mindfulness-based therapy can help you become more present, reduce emotional reactivity, and develop greater awareness of the connection between your thoughts, feelings, body, and behavior.

Trauma-Informed Therapy
Trauma-informed therapy recognizes that past experiences can influence how you feel, think, behave, relate to others, and respond to stress in the present.
Rather than asking, “What's wrong with you?” trauma-informed care asks, “What happened to you, and how has it affected you?”
A trauma-informed approach considers the whole person and recognizes that trauma can affect the nervous system, emotional well-being, relationships, physical health, and sense of safety. This may include the effects of childhood trauma, abuse, neglect, difficult family experiences, cultural or religious experiences, chronic stress, and other traumatic events.
Trauma-informed therapy emphasizes safety, trust, collaboration, choice, and empowerment. We work together to understand your experiences without judgment and develop approaches that support healing and greater connection with yourself.
Trauma-informed therapy may be helpful for people who feel anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, shut down, or stuck in patterns related to past experiences.

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a goal-oriented, evidence-based therapy approach that focuses on your strengths, resources, and the changes you want to make in your life.
Rather than focusing exclusively on problems or the past, solution-focused therapy explores what is already working, what you want to be different, and the small steps that can help you move toward your goals.
SFBT can help you identify your strengths, clarify your goals, recognize progress, and develop practical strategies for creating meaningful change. This approach can be particularly helpful when you want to focus on the future and identify achievable steps toward greater well-being.
